The Campus Renewal Project at Washington University is a long-term project to transform Washington University Medical Center (WUMC) through new construction and renovations. The campus is vast and includes Barnes-Jewish Hospital (BJH), St. Louis Children’s Hospital (SLCH) and Washington University School of Medicine. FDR Engineers performed structural engineering design and detail drawings for all exterior cold-formed steel wall framing. FDR Engineers also completed fabircation drawings for the light steel framing contractor. Challenges included design and detailing of wide openings, building edges, and unique details to support storefronts with limited available space.
