FDR Engineers (FDR) provided the design of a cold-formed steel roof truss system to meet requirements outlined in UFC 4-010-01 (2012), DoD Minimum Antiterrorism Standards for Buildings and UFC 4-010-02 (2007), DoD Minimum Antiterrorism Standoff Distances for Buildings.

A preliminary static blast load for the roof was determined. Subsequently a dynamic analysis for a total of twelve (12) selected roof trusses was performed to determine if the design of truss system is adequate.   Extreme Loading® for Structures software was used to perform the analysis as well as a combination of PDC tools (SBEDS, etc.) as needed for the blast analysis of roof system. The final design for all the studied roof trusses satisfied the relevant blast-resistant design requirements in terms of dynamic strength and deformations.
