FDR Engineers (FDR) provided the blast design criteria, damage level and acceptable response limits for the exterior metal stud framing around window and door openings and non-conventional metal stud framing of a 5-story bachelor quarters building at the Naval Station in Norfolk, VA. SDOF dynamic analysis of supporting structural framing components was performed and appropriate cold-formed steel (CFS) sections were selected based on UFC 4-010-01 (2012), DoD Minimum Anti-Terrorism Standards for Buildings.
