Location: Wilmington, North Carolina

Sitting 7 Stories high, the Aloft Coastline Hotel sits along the Cape Fear River in Downtown Wilmington. The Aloft will have 125 rooms, a full service restaurant, ground and rooftop bars, and a multitude of other amenities. FDR provided the load bearing and curtain wall engineering and fabrication plans.

In order to complete the assignment FDR had to work around the existing structure and design a corridor with a roof structure to bear on the existing framing. Being able to produce panel plans for the interior load bearing walls allowed the erection of the hotel to be a fast and easy process.
