Project Overview

ISTB 7, short for Interdisciplinary Science and Technology Building 7, is the new high- performance research facility at Arizona State University. The building is approximately 281,000 square feet and will house Global Futures, the School of Sustainability, and the Institute of Human Origins. In addition, the building has research labs for biological sciences, engineering, life sciences, and sustainability. FDR provided light gauge engineering for this project. Thanks to FDR's out of the box thinking, we were able to hang concrete panels without accessing the wall cavity. The $192 million building began construction in 2019. Project completed in 2021.

FDR Scope

Light gauge engineering, including a solution to hang concrete panels without accessing the wall cavity.
